Partner Spotlight: Addolorata Villa

Addolorata Villa, a part of Franciscan Communities, has been caring for families for more than 75 years. As the needs of the senior population have changed and longevity increased, we have created services and programs tailored to the needs of our community with Independent Apartments, Assisted Living, Memory Support and Skilled Nursing services.  This range of quality health services is designed to meet the specific, often changing needs of our residents. Our skilled nursing services at Addolorata Villa offer an experienced, professional clinical team committed to delivering quality services for both long term residents or those requiring  a short term rehabilitative stay. Our faith based community sponsored by the Franciscan Sisters of Chicago thrives with the mission statement to “Celebrate Life and Serve with Joy.”

Addolorata Villa embraces the concept of “Living Joyfully”. We believe joy should exist in every aspect of daily life. Each day is filled with possibilities and good times because that’s how we choose to live and serve within our community. A part of what makes the Villa so special are its more than 250 associates who serve our residents, families and each other on a daily basis. We are proud of the long tenure of our associates, with some serving more than 30 years!

During Nursing Home Week, we always take time to celebrate our associates. It is because of them that we are able to provide care in line with our Mission and Values. Our associate appreciation team puts together special events throughout the year, but we hold our largest event in May often featuring food trucks, raffle prizes and a special gift from the residents of the Villa. We also take the opportunity to celebrate Milestone anniversaries and the great dedication of the team that has given such a huge part of themselves to our Mission.

Finally, Nurses’ Week and CNA Week also fall during this busy time!  A highlight of the food, fun and gifts that go along with these two celebrations are a “Blessing of the Hands” conducted by our Pastoral Care department.  During a special service, carers hands are anointed with oil with the spoken words of “May these hands bring comfort and healing to those they touch, to the honor and glory of God.”
